How did you meet each other?
Kyle and I were set up on a blind date about 3 weeks after I relocated from New York City to Denver. Kyle went to Kellogg School of Management for his MBA where he met one of our now close Denver friends, who happened to be college roommates with my best friend and matron of honor's now husband. Through small words colliding, we were set up on a blind date. Our first date was brunch on Sunday afternoon in LoHi Denver, which turned into an all day hang out, and an immediate ask for a second date, which happened the very next day.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
The ceremony. Having everyone concentrated in that small area, in such a beautiful place, and to have had my cousin Dani do the incredible job she did just was so special. I cannot wait to watch the video again to re-live it all.
Following that memory would be 1) My first look with Kyle and 2) My first look with my dad. As two of the most special people in my life, both moments will be two I will never forget.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Similar to what friends told us - try to savor every moment of the weekend because it goes by so fast. Small hiccups ins in weather and planning do not matter because everyone is having an amazing time, and you should be right there with everyone. Enjoy all parts of the weekend - eat, drink and just do not worry about the details because it all happens perfectly no matter what.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went on a minimoon to Napa Valley, where we stayed at the Los Alcobos in St. Helena. We would absolutely recommend a minimoon after the wedding to sleep, not talk and just decompress. We wine tasted, at lots of amazing food, went to the spa and ventured out and did hiking along the coast.
Our honeymoon starts the week of Thanksgiving and takes us until the holidays. We are going to Africa - Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. We cannot be more excited to trek around, explore and go on safari!
