How did you meet one another?
Trey and I met through a mutual friend. It's actually a pretty crazy story. My best guy friend through all of high school, Connor, went to a different school in Des Moines than I did. Trey moved to Des Moines his junior year of high school and went to the same school as Connor and they became best friends. However, all throughout high school Trey and I never met each other. Connor brought Trey to a friends house in Iowa City, where I was going to school at the time, and we met there. We talked but he was deploying to Jordan later that month so nothing really came from that. When Trey got home from Jordan we ended up both being at another friends house and we've been inseparable since that night.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
How do I pick just one?! I think my favorite one would probably be after the ceremony Trey and I went into the bride's cottage and just talked to each other for about five minutes. It was so nice to just be alone for a couple minutes before the party began. Trey's favorite memory is dancing with me!
What is some advice you would give to other couples who are planning their wedding?
I heard some advice the day of our wedding from my Matron of Honor, she told me when I walk down the aisle to lock eyes with Trey and not to look at anyone else, you won't remember all the faces you see if you're trying to look at everyone else who came to celebrate with you, but you will remember those 30 seconds of looking at how handsome the man you're about to marry looks. Also, don't feel like you need to speak to every guest for more than a few seconds, if you're trying to have a full conversation with everyone around you, you won't be able to fully appreciate the best night of your life. And make sure you eat! You probably won't be extremely hungry but at least get something in your stomach and enjoy how good the food is.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We haven't been on our honeymoon yet actually! With Trey being in the army it was too hard for us to feel comfortable planning something with the chance that we might need to cancel it. So in the summer of 2018 we're going on a cross country road trip together for a month or so! We are SO excited!
