How did you two meet? From the couples website…
What Jacob & Claire thought was going to be just another dateless wedding, turned into day one of their love story! A day intended to celebrate a love story ended in heartbreak.
Jacob & Claire met at a wedding in July of 2018. Jacob was a groomsmen and Claire was a guest. After a few beers, they caught one another’s eye. Later that night Claire removed her shoes because her feet hurt and asked him to carry her around (little did he know, it was to get his attention). The two then chatted for a bit and felt an instant connection. They planned to grab drinks after the reception as they didn’t want the night to end. In the time between the wedding ending and Jacob coming to pick up Claire, Claire received news that her Papa Mike had passed away. When Jacob arrived at her room, he was met by Claire’s family and noticed how devastated Claire was by the news. In the midst of the chaos and emotions Jacob felt a pull to protect and care for Claire. In fact, he came back to her room every 30 minutes to check on her and helped her family pack up the car so they could get to Claire’s grandma, Jacki. Jacob’s compassionate and genuine heart is what prompted Claire to message him the next day to say thank you and reconnect. Their first date was five days later and the rest is history!
The last piece of advice Claire’s Papa Mike gave to her was, “I love you! Now, go flirt with the groomsmen and bring one home!” Claire followed that advice and did just that, and now, almost 2 years later, she’s marrying her groomsman.

What was the best memory from your wedding day?
Claire - walking down the aisle to Jake. Seeing his reaction and just the emotion behind the moment is something I will never forget.

Do you have any advice for future couples as they plan their wedding?
Don’t stress the small stuff. At the end of the day, the little things aren’t what matter, what matters most is you as a couple and the next chapter you are walking into.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We rented an RV, packed up the dogs and headed to the beach! Definitely recommend.
