How did you meet each other?
Just five short years ago, Alyssa was ordering her favorite breakfast sandwich at a Boulder classic, Moe's Bagel's. Standing in line behind her, Geoff found himself stealing glances, nervously wondering how he could break the ice with such a beautiful stranger.
As the clerk passed her sandwich across the counter, Alyssa realized her credit card was missing. With no other way to pay, she would have to leave her sandwich and Geoff would miss his chance to meet her. Then, stepping up to the counter, he surprised Alyssa (and himself) with an offer: he would buy the bagels if she would stay and chat.
After a brief pause, her shock subsided and intrigue took over. She accepted. Whether it was hunger or the handsome man remains a mystery. The rest however, is history.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
By far, the best part was getting to spend the weekend with all of our closest friends and family....and Shaggy the donkey :) The chance encounters and conversations with your favorite people are something you can’t plan, but they end up being some of the most unforgettable moments.
A close second was the the first look. It was nice to have this private moment between just the two of us prior to the ceremony to be with each other. This goes a long way to calm the pre ceremony nerves, plus you can get a lot of the pictures knocked out so you can get to happy hour sooner! ;)
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
1. Never forget that you are planning one of the best days of your life. It may be stressful at times, but in the end it is an amazing adventure together that can be enjoyable! We’d suggest planning at a local brewery over some craft beers :)
2. Minimize the vendors you work with. Choosing vendors that can do multiple tasks on your wedding day is extremely helpful, because it makes it easier to communicate, leading to less stress during the planning process. For example, our wedding planner also did our florals. Our DJ also did our photobooth. The venue provided the open bar. And lastly, our catering company provided both our food for dinner and our cake. Therefore, when planning we only had to communicate with 4 people!
Overall, don't stress about all the little details and focus on enjoying every moment of your wedding day!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to the beautiful island of St. Lucia for our honeymoon. The views were unreal, the people were friendly, and the location offered a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure! Aside from plentiful beach time, we went hiking, paddle boarding, sailing, and finished the trip with a helicopter tour of the island! Take some time to unwind from the wedding stress and enjoy being together as newlyweds. Pro tip, the locals love newlyweds..they’ll never be upset about taking photos and you might even get free champagne or dessert.
