How did you meet each other?
High School? 4H?- Its been 9 years so the actual meeting or what brought us together becomes more and more of a blur as the years go by…We knew of each other in high school. We actually had a gym class together, my junior year (Dahlton’s freshman year). Some time went by and then a few years later ended up attending 4H meetings together. Getting to know each other and starting a new relationship. Dahlton decided after high school, MSU Bozeman was the school for him, I was invested in school at MSU Denver and that was just the beginning. I flew back and forth regularly (for four and a half years). We didn’t let the distance between Bozeman and Castle Rock stop us.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
There is so many to have to pick just one…. So of many I narrowed it down to two… 1). My siblings killed their toast (SONG) my sister the Maid of Honor adjusted the lyrics to “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks, and talked my brothers (Bridesmen) into singing with her and belted out the BEST toast ever! They had the whole crowd laughing. 2). Our last dance. Our family and friends gathered around us in one big circle, swaying and singing, again to “Friends in Low Places” as we danced away the final minutes of our wedding day! We are so blessed!
When I asked Dahlton what his best memory was from the wedding-
Dahlton: “um…. Do I have to pick just one?”
Amber: “no you can pick whatever you want”
D: “ummmm…all of it… I truly enjoyed the whole day”
*a few seconds of silence*
D: “Our First Dance- That was probably my favorite.”
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Live in the moment of every single minute. Everything goes so fast, the planning, months, weeks and days before the big day and the day itself all become such a blur. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Remember at that end of the day it’s about the two of you, and what really matters is the commitment you’re making and the start of your forever together.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
With Dahlton working in the irrigation industry we decided to hold off on a honeymoon do to being his busy season. We are looking into a honeymoon in January, somewhere warm- working with Time of your Life Travel to plan the trip.
